Florian Franziskakis
Florian is a GIS analyst and a PhD candidate at the University of Geneva, working on Earth system modelling, specializing in the interaction between layers of the Earth and the long-term dynamics of climate, plate tectonics and mantle circulation. He previously worked at the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) Secretariat and was involved on in situ data management and sharing, advancement of open science through the GEO Knowledge Hub, and also helped develop GEO youth engagement.
Before GEO, Florian was working at UN Environment on environmental data management for MapX and the World Environment Situation Room (WESR).
