Yhasmin Mendes de Moura
Yhasmin M. Moura is a Remote Sensing scientist with over twelve years of experience in the field. She holds a Master’s and Ph.D. in Remote Sensing from the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) in Brazil.
Currently, Yhasmin works as a Land Monitoring Expert at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in Rome. In this role, she contributes to the development of STRATA, an online tool and data analytics platform focused on climate security.
STRATA aims to raise awareness about the interconnections between climate change, environmental degradation, and peace and security. This joint UNEP/FAO initiative simplifies and aggregates multiple multidisciplinary layers to highlight complex and recent climate-related security risks, guiding project designers and decision-makers by transforming raw data into actionable information.
