Nicera Wanjiru Kimani
Nicera Wanjiru Kimani is a community organiser, mobiliser and trainer who has extensive experience in project management having soaked in the world of development for close to a decade.
She has linked both local, national and international organisations and institutions for better collaboration on climate justice discourse, safer cities, ecological justice and inclusion of underrepresented voices. Moreover, she has diverse experience in both qualitative and quantitative data collection as a researcher. She has completed research work as the founder of Community Mappers a Community Based Organisation dedicated to quality data collection that informs data-driven programming, policies, and initiatives. Her work addresses various issues plaguing communities in informal settlements, for example completing studies on waste.
She is a climate justice activist who has been on the frontline advocating for inclusion of marginalised demographics in the climate justice discourse. She has lent her voice in different fora and represented the informal settlements at Climate COP 27 promoting inclusion of grass root communities in climate action conversations. She acts as an advisor to numerous parties on local communities and informal settlements.
