Nhilce Esquivel
Nhilce Esquivel (MSc) is a specialist in disaster risk reduction, sustainability, and innovation working as a researcher at Stockholm Environment Institute. Her current work focuses on developing tools and applying human centre design approach into projects aiming to improve decision making in the water, WASH, and climate adaptation sectors.
Nhilce has long experience leading teams and supporting youth engagement in the water and geospatial sector. Her previous work has focused on developing and implementing projects and business combining technology, innovation, sustainability, climate change, co-creation, creativity, community driven solutions and digitalisation in vulnerable settings.
In the past ten years, Nhilce has worked in international settings, cooperating with organisations that have a global influence in the fields of water, sustainability, climate adaptation, and Earth Observation (EO).
