Laura Mugeha

Laura Mugeha is a geospatial engineer working at the intersection of open data, free and open-source software, and sustainable development. With a commitment to building for impact, she harnesses the power of communities and technology to drive positive change. Currently, Laura is an Implementation Officer at Ushahidi and mainly works with program partners to lead capacity building for the African Union Civic Tech Fund (AUCTF 2.0).


In addition to this, Laura is an active volunteer and enjoys giving back to tech communities. She is a member of the board of directors for the  OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF) and has been a YouthMappers regional ambassador for the past four years, supporting student-led and faculty-mentored university clubs in East and Central Africa. She also co-created OSM Kenya, advocating for the adoption of open mapping locally.
