At Réseau, we bring together a network of like-minded practitioners committed to driving equitable and inclusive solutions to the world's environmental and socioeconomic challenges. The Réseau Associates reflect an international community of women from the global south who excel in their fields.
Our founder and CEO, Steven Ramage, leverages over three decades of expertise in location data, tools, and services, as well as business strategy, policy development, research and innovation.
His extensive career has included leadership roles with key industry players, such as Here, 1Spatial, Ordnance Survey, and the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). Steven has also worked for and advised major communities and international organisations, including the Group on Earth Observations (GEO), the German Development Agency (GIZ), the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT), the United Nations and the World Bank.
In January 2024, through a multi-year contract with Réseau and in partnership with Evenflow in Belgium, Steven assumed the position of Executive Officer for the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS), the leading forum for civil, international space-based Earth observation coordination.
Steven's influence extends to the Board of Directors of Climate Policy Radar in London, UK, and the Advisory Board of GEO BON, the global biodiversity observation network. He played a key role in the creation of Digital Earth Africa serving on the inaugural Advisory Board for over 3 years and he was on the initial Interim Steering Committee for Digital Earth Pacific. Steven's academic contributions include being a Visiting Lecturer at the Institute for Environmental Sciences at the University of Geneva, a Visiting Professor at the Institute for Future Cities at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, and a SASNet Fellow at the Urban Big Data Centre at the University of Glasgow, Scotland.
As an active thought leader, Steven has contributed extensively to discussions on climate, data, policy, and space-related topics at the World Economic Forum (WEF) since 2019. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (RGS).
